Besides 2 mass sections, 26 motets, 1 Latin/Italian, 28 Italian, 23 French, 3 Flemish and 2 Spanish secular works, this songbook also contains two pieces with solmization incipits and three textless compositions. Concordances point to composers such as Agricola, Brumel, Busnoys, Compère, Isaac, Josquin, Ockeghem, Obrecht, Stokkem and Tromboncino. This early sixteenth-century manuscript was partly copied by the Italian theoretician, composer and choirmaster Giovanni Spataro who is considered to be the founder of the Bolognese School.
